Green Gas is an international clean energy company that specialises in converting methane emissions from coal mines and landfill sites into clean energy and valuable carbon credits.

Green Gas offers a fully funded, integrated and commercially attractive solution for gas management and utilisation for coal mine and landfill owners, including the process of qualifying carbon credits. In short we cover gas collection, gas drainage, project management, operations and maintenance, carbon credits and finance. Whilst improving site productivity and safety, we provide new and clean sources of electricity and heat, and eliminate a potent greenhouse gas.

With around 50 projects operating around the world and a consolidated 50 year track record in the industry, we are expanding our project portfolio rapidly, thereby helping customers and communities worldwide to reduce their carbon footprint, in a commercially viable way.

Green Gas improves the core business of customers by improving safety and the productivity of coal mines, by improving gas capture in landfills and by bringing its expertise and focus to bear on the gas utilisation business which is often a non-core business for landfill and mine owners. Green Gas draws on 50 years of international experience to produce world-class fully-integrated solutions for coal mine methane and landfill gas projects.

Green Gas DPB
Green Gas DPB is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Green Gas and was formed by a merger with OKD, DPB a.s. in 2007. DPB is an established Czech pioneer in coal mine methane management and usage. It offers a surface and underground drilling capability as well as mine gas production and distribution.

The company distributes around 100 million m³ methane gas per annum from both abandoned and operating coal mines, for sale as a fuel and for the production of heat and electricity. DPB conducts routine drilling for gas drainage, geothermal water, geological exploration and large diameter ventilation boreholes, supported by extensive laboratory facilities.

Green Gas Germany
At the end of 2006, Green Gas acquired the core assets of G.A.S. Energietechnologie (G.A.S.) to form Green Gas Germany. The company is a leader in the construction and operation of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants to generate electricity and heat from low quality methane sources in coal mines and landfill sites.

Based in Switzerland, Hofstetter Umwelttechnik AG (Hofstetter) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Green Gas and a global leader in gas collection systems and flaring technology. With over 30 years oexperience and over 1,500 plants installed worldwide, Hofstetter uses the latest incineration technology to ensure the safe and quietest possible flaring of gas.
